Tomato Basil Fettuchini

This low fat recipe will have your kitchen smelling so good that you may have to fend off your neighbors at risk of having to share your food.

1/2 c onions, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp black pepper
29 ozs crushed tomatoes
12 ozs fettuccini, uncooked
1 tbsp basil

In a skillet, cook onions and garlic over medium heat. Cook until tender but not brown. Add crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook fettuccini according to package directions. Drain. Immediately toss hot fettuccini with tomato basil sauce.
