The Scarsdale Diet is low in calories and quite
low in carbs, so it should produce fat and fluid loss, as well as loss
of lean tissue.
This is a two weeks on, two weeks off diet approach.
The two weeks on, two weeks off approach is quite good and means that
the overall calorie count of the plan isn't quite as low as it may seem,
but Dr. Tarnower is very strict about following the diet to the letter
during the two weeks, so if you like being told what to do, with little
room for choice, then it should be quite easy.
Here is how the Scarsdale diet plan works..
Breakfast
1/2 Grapefruit, slice of whole wheat toast
(no butter or spread), coffee (no sugar or milk)
Lunch
Tuna fish well drained, salad with oil-free
dressing, coffee
Dinner
Roast lamb, all visible fat removed, salad
with lemon and vinegar dressing, coffee
