Did you know that fat contains more than twice
the amount of calories than carbohydrate or protein, the other two macronutrients
that provide calories in foods? In particular animal fats, such as chicken
skin, the fat on steaks, butter and whole milk products seem to be the
culprit. Fats that are solid at room temperature, such as solid Crisco
and chicken fat, are also damaging.
Keeping all of these ideas in mind, lowering
the fat content, keeping an eye on calories and trying to stick to vegetarian
type meals as much as possible, may help you to live a more healthy
lifestyle. It certainly does not have to be boring. Just have a look
at the low fat recipes that we have
compiled. Try one, and then try the rest. This is some really great
food! The life of a dieter need not be boring, that is for sure.
