Cooking is a chore that takes time away from
the things we love to do. People prefer to spend quality time with the
family, taking part in leisure pursuits or simply spending more time
making money!
What used to be a daily activity involving home-grown
produce and old skills, has now been transformed by clever advertising
campaigns. Cooking seems to have become a weekend activity fashioned
by celebrity cooks who focus on dinner parties and the novelty of fresh
foods.
For busy people, fast food is a blessing. There’s
little or no preparation involved, it is usually tasty and looks good
on the plate, and the appetite is satisfied. You don't have to go to
any trouble and you get to spend your time in pursuit of happiness.
The down side to this is that fast food usually
means processed food which means it's not very healthy for you. When
manufacturers process natural, whole foods and turn them into plastic-packaged

to improve texture, flavour, colour, aroma, stability, sweetness, shelf
life, none of which are found in fresh foods!
